Fix a transaction’s category
Flocuity sorts each transaction into a category from its description. It’s right most of the time, and quick to correct when it isn’t.
- Open Reports (Standard and Plus) and click the category the transaction is under: its transactions are listed under the table.
- Choose the right category, and correct the payee’s name if you like, then Save.
- The change applies to every transaction from that payee, past and future, so one correction fixes them all. Check “just this one” first if it shouldn’t.
On Basic, which has no Reports, change the category on the payment’s row under Money In or Money Out: it re-files every payment from that payee. Payments with no category at all are under To file, below.
Payments with no category
When nothing Flocuity knows matches a payee, its payments wait under To file at the top of Money In and Money Out, on every plan. Pick a category once for each payee and every payment from it is filed, now and later. In the Detailed view you can also name the customer or vendor, and open a payee’s payments to file one of them differently.
Categories that matter most
A few categories change how the math works: Payroll, Taxes, Loan payments, Transfer, Credit card payment and Owner draw. A transfer between your own accounts isn’t income or spending, so make sure those are marked Transfer.
You can add your own categories in Settings › Categories.
