For small businesses and their accountants
Cash flow forecasting software for small business
What good forecasting software does
It answers one question every morning: will we be OK?
A chart on its own leaves the reading of it to you. Flocuity opens with a sentence instead. You stay above your cushion for the next 13 weeks, or you dip below it the week of November 2: the day it bottoms out, how low it goes, and how much more money would keep you above it.
Under the sentence are the money coming up and where your balance is headed, and in the Detailed view every dollar that makes it up, line by line, so your accountant can check every number.
You dip below your $15,000 cushion the week of Nov 2.
Lowest point: $12,000 on Fri, Nov 6.
You’d need $3,000 more coming in by Fri, Nov 6 to stay above your $15,000 cushion the whole way.

What’s inside
Everything a cash forecast needs, and nothing you have to build
A rolling 13-week cash flow forecast
By day, week or month, rolling forward every day. Built from your recurring items, payroll, taxes and trends.
Cushion alerts
Set the balance you never want to go under. Flocuity names the week you’d cross it, the cause and the shortfall, while there’s still time to act.
Bills and invoices
Open invoices and bills from QuickBooks Online or Xero, or added by hand, each on its due date, or on Plus on the date that customer really pays. Overdue ones are moved out, never counted on a date already missed.
The Staffing Model
Pay, start and end dates, employer taxes, on Standard and Plus. On Plus, raises and planned hires too: see what a hire does to cash before you make the offer.
Tax dates and set-asides
Payroll, income and sales tax placed in the forecast ahead of time, with an amount to hold back.
Scenarios and reports
Slower collections, a lost customer, a price rise. On Plus, save a what-if and compare it; reports on Standard and Plus, and an export to Excel on every plan.
How it compares
A spreadsheet, your accounting software, or forecasting software?
Each is good at its own job. A spreadsheet can model anything but keeps nothing up to date. Accounting software records what happened. Forecasting software looks ahead and keeps itself current.

Questions people ask
- What is cash flow forecasting software?
- Software that projects your bank balance forward from what it knows is coming: recurring bills, payroll, taxes, the invoices you’re owed and the bills you owe. Good cash flow forecasting software updates itself from your bank and your books, and tells you when the balance gets tight while there’s still time to act. You’ll also see it called cash forecasting software, cash flow projection software or cash flow forecasting tools. Treasury software for large companies is a different thing, built for many bank accounts, currencies and entities.
- How is it different from the cash flow report in my accounting software?
- Accounting software is built to record what has happened, accurately, for your taxes and your lender. A cash flow statement looks backward. A forecast projects your balance week by week, and changes every day as money moves.
- Do I still need a spreadsheet?
- No, though you can export the forecast to Excel at any time. A spreadsheet forecast is out of date the day after it’s updated, and most are updated once a quarter.
- How much does Flocuity cost?
- $49 / month, or $490 / year. That is Standard, for teams of up to 25 employees. Basic, for one person on their own, costs less, and Plus adds scenarios, budgets, planned hires and the Lender Package. No plan charges per user. There’s a 14-day free trial, and you see your own forecast before you enter a card.
- Does it work with QuickBooks and Xero?
- With QuickBooks Online and Xero, yes. Connect either and your open invoices and bills come into the forecast and stay up to date, read-only: nothing is ever written back to your books. QuickBooks Desktop has no connection yet: you connect your bank and add invoices and bills yourself or from a spreadsheet.
- How long does it take to set up?
- About ten minutes. Answer a few questions, connect your bank or upload a bank export, check the recurring items it found, and you’re looking at your next 13 weeks.
- Is it only for small businesses?
- Small businesses first: owner-run businesses with anything from a couple of people to a few dozen, and the accountants and bookkeepers who look after them. A household version is available too, at a smaller price.
- Is my financial data safe?
- Bank and accounting connections are read-only: Flocuity reads transactions and cannot change anything at your bank or in your books. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, each business is separated from every other at the database level, two-step sign-in is available, and you can delete everything yourself at any time. We don’t sell your data.
