Reading your forecast

Bills, invoices and recurring items

The forecast is built from three kinds of items, found under Money In and Money Out.

  • Recurring items: rent, subscriptions, loan payments, a retainer from a customer. Flocuity finds them in your history and continues them forward.
  • One-time items: an invoice you expect to be paid, a bill you have to pay, a tax payment, an equipment purchase. Each has a date and an amount.
  • Trends: for money in or out that’s regular but not fixed, like card sales or supplies, Flocuity uses your recent averages.

Keeping it right

  • When an amount changes, edit the recurring item. The forecast updates from that date on.
  • When a regular payment stops, give it an end date, or dismiss it (Restore brings it back), and it leaves the forecast. One you typed yourself can be deleted.
  • An invoice or bill from QuickBooks or Xero that goes past due isn’t left on a date that’s already gone: it’s flagged and moved two weeks out (on Plus, an invoice to the day its customer usually pays). One you typed yourself stops counting once its date has gone by, and Flocuity asks whether it happened.
  • To keep an invoice or bill from your books out of the forecast without touching your books, use Leave out. Put back brings it back.
