Planning ahead
Scenario Planning
Scenario Planning is on Plus, in the Detailed view. It answers questions like what if collections slow by two weeks, what if we lose our biggest customer, what if we hire two people in March, what if we raise prices 5%.
- Open Scenario Planning.
- Start from an outlook (Cautious, Expected or Optimistic) or move the sliders: how late customers pay, how much of what’s owed gets collected, and the trend in sales and in costs.
- Add specific assumptions by category and month where you know more, such as a seasonal dip or a one-time cost.
- Save the scenario with a name. On the Dashboard, in the Detailed view, choose it under Compare with on the Cash flow chart, or pick Draw it under Outlooks and scenarios, to see it beside Expected.
The three outlooks (Cautious, Expected, Optimistic) are the quick version: the Detailed Dashboard lists them beside your own scenarios under Outlooks and scenarios, each with its lowest point and the weeks it spends under your cushion.
